The Benefits Of Spring Cleaning
Clean Your house & Clear Your Mind
It’s been a long winter, Spring seemed so far away but it’s finally here and I am so happy!
Finally trees start to grow back their coats & flowers begin to add colour all around us. What a great time of year.
Oh yeah and it’s also spring cleaning time (you can read about its origins here)! Whether it’s something you do yearly or see as a bit of a gimmick i’m here to change your mind!
The benefits of spring cleaning not only transform your house into a place of awe but can bring a huge sense of calm and relaxation to your mind too. Sound good? Keep reading!
The sense of accomplishment after a top-to-bottom house clean is something everyone should experience.
It takes some serious will power to stick at it and not sweep the rest under the rug! Grab any little helpers you can find and assign them tasks (maybe offer them a reward for their hard work!).
A spring clean isn’t just cleaning surfaces and hoovering up dust bunnies, it’s ridding your home of unnecessary junk you’ve built up over the years (yes even clothes… ouch!).
Takeaway tip: Tackle one room at a time and schedule in plenty of matcha tea breaks to restore your energy and sense of calm!
By decluttering your house and re-organising things you now don’t have to go running around like a headless chicken trying to find that blender you bought 5 years ago. Score.
You’ll also have more room and things will look a lot cleaner and tidier, watch those stress levels drop before you.
Takeaway tip: Try putting things in a place you’ll remember that’s easily accessible.
This is the best kind of spring cleaning reward you can get! When you’re rummaging through box after box and find something you completely forgot about.
Sometimes it sparks a reignited love for that item and it feels like you’ve just been given something new for free. Yippee!!
Takeaway tip: Go through old suitcases that have been stored away and boxes you haven’t touched for years.
Once you’ve cleaned, tidied and trashed unwanted bits & bobs you’ll probably be inspired by the new space you have to call home.
I always get inspired to do a little home re-vamp and treat myself to some new paint, a few nice candles and a painting or two, it’s the perfect way to welcome a new Spring to your home.
Takeaway tip: Flip through some home decor magazines and get a feel for what you fancy.
Now that you have glorious new home thats fresh, organised and pretty darn sexy, what better excuse to have friends round for a dinner party? They’ll see your home at its best and you’ll be the envy of the evening (little do they know this is a yearly thing) muahaha!
Takeaway tip: Get those invites out there a week or so in advance, this will give you no excuses when it comes to the big spring clean, win win!
